No, not from 27 June 2026 onward in most markets. IELTS is now fully computer-delivered for Listening, Reading and Writing. Speaking remains a face-to-face interview regardless. The test content and scoring are unchanged — only the format of sitting it has changed.

Academic is for university or college study abroad. General Training is for immigration, work programmes, or completing secondary education in an English-speaking country. Listening and Speaking are the same for both; only Reading and Writing differ.

Around 2 hours 45 minutes for Listening (30 min), Reading (60 min) and Writing (60 min) combined, plus a separate Speaking test of 11–14 minutes.

Each of the four sections is scored on a Band scale from 1 to 9. Your overall score is the average of all four, rounded to the nearest 0.5. There’s no pass or fail — universities and immigration bodies set their own minimum band requirements.

Yes, provided everyone is at a similar English level. Group sizes of 2, 3 or 4 students receive a 20%, 30% or 40% discount per person respectively.

RM 2,800 for 20 hours of one-to-one tuition plus 4 full mock exams, with a RM 250 registration fee. Group rates apply if you’re preparing with friends at a similar level.

It varies by student, which is exactly why we assess all four skills first rather than assuming — some students are strong conversationally but lose marks on Writing task structure, others read fluently but under-perform in Listening under time pressure.
